Social Responsibility

Alongside the business part of the company, LHC understands the importance of nurturing the next generation of engineers. Over the years, LHC has provided consistent support to post-secondary students to enrich their learning experiences and broaden their perspective by working with a professional engineering firm.

“I valued the opportunity to gain practical industry experience with a team that appreciated my ideas and celebrated my accomplishments”

Working for Lake Harbour Co, I was fortunate to gain experience in a collaborative and innovative work environment. The work culture at Lake Harbour is built on a foundation of team work and kindness. I was encouraged to share my opinion in weekly team meeting and received input from others on my own work. I was not only given the independence to oversee projects, but was also provided support to ensure I was set up for success. This level of mentorship created an opportunity for me to understand Lake Harbour's systematic and strategic approach to all aspects of the business, both the entrepreneurial and engineering components.  As a mechanical engineering student at the University of Toronto, I valued the opportunity to gain practical industry experience with a team that appreciated my ideas and celebrated my accomplishments.

“Under the kind mentoring from my colleagues, the 8 weeks in LHC was incredibly fruitful. This internship equipped myself with experience and skills like no others”

As a science student, working as a Web Marketing Manager in an engineering firm was a great opportunity to explore the industries which I never expected to encounter. The way how Lake Harbour emphasized on team goals before personal benefits, while ensuring they only offer best-quality service for the customers was truly inspirational. On top of that, throughout the 8 weeks of my internship, I was fascinated by the values the company upheld – work is not only about benefits, it is also about joy (this was one of the major takeaways). I was also lucky enough to have a taste of working as a human resources assistant, alongside as a web marketing manager. Under the kind mentoring from my colleagues, the 8 weeks in LHC was incredibly fruitful. This internship equipped myself with experience and skills like no others. Great thank you to Matthew and everyone from Lake Harbour for supporting me throughout my time in LHC!
